As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex get ready for the arrival of their first born, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Thursday ahead of the big day.

Gayle King, CBS This Morning's smartest cookie, will host the CBS News special Meghan and Harry Plus One, marking the one-year anniversary of the royal marriage and the birth of their first child, who will be the first British-American child to be in line for the throne.

So far, as per tradition, royal couples have posed for pictures outside the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary's hospital in London.

Prince Harry and his pregnant wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, say they have chose to keep plans around their first baby's arrival private.

The Duke and Duchess, who are expecting their first child later this month, said they would be "celebrating privately as a new family" after the birth as a first priority. During the segment, the duo delved into Markle and the coverage and the negative social media commentary that has followed her since her and Prince Harry went public with their relationship. Considering they want to keep the news private, the couple may just choose to share the baby's news on their newly launched Instagram account.

"I feel that if people really knew her, they would know that she is not only everything that we perceive of her as being graceful and dynamic and holding that position, but she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart. I decide what necklace is going to be worn out of the Royal Collection".

It also comes after Meghan and Harry moved out of Kensington Palace and in to their new Frogmore Cottage home in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
