Disney+ reveals price and debut date, new shows and movies

Disney+ Confirms Vision and Scarlet Witch, What If?, And More Marvel Shows Marvel’s ‘What If?’ Disney+ Series Will Find Peggy Carter Taking the Super Soldier Serum

There's plenty to be excited about ahead of the streaming service's November launch and Disney promises that it will rapidly expand globally following its US debut.

As a cherry on top, Marvel revealed that talent from the movies will be lending their voices to the What If series, so while Hayley Atwell's short-lived ABC series Agent Carter may be gone, we can probably at least look forward to hearing her as Peggy again. A monthly subscription will cost less than a month of Netflix, and those who sign up will get access to a large library of both classic Disney content and new originals.

Disney+ will combine offerings from powerhouse brands including Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars with content from Hulu and sports network ESPN.

More than 25 original series and 10 original films, documentaries and specials will be added to the streaming service throughout its first 12 months.

Earlier this week excited fans finally received a date and a price for Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+ (November 12 and $6.99 a month, respectively), as well as a sneak peek at a few exclusive shows and movies such as the "Monsters Inc."-inspired series "Monsters at Work", new "Star Wars" shows such as "The Mandalorian", and all 30 seasons of "The Simpsons".

Marvel Studios is also working on animated series "What If", based on a past Marvel Comics series that featured out-of-continuity stories with unusual team-ups or alternate versions of previous tales. Each episode will explore a pivotal moment from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turn it on its head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.

Tom Hiddleston's reaction came back in November when they first announced that a Loki series was being developed for Disney+.

"This is our first serious foray in this space, and we want to reach as many people as possible with it", chairman and CEO Bob Iger explained at Disney's 2019 Investor Day, where the news was announced.

"We're extremely excited about our growing portfolio of direct-to-consumer offerings", said Kevin Mayer, Disney's chairman of direct-to-consumer and worldwide content. "We'll continue to enhance the user experience with a constant pipeline of high-quality programming, making the service even more appealing to consumers". Users will have the ability to create custom provides where they'll receive personalized recommendations based on past experiences and preferences. Currently, Disney+ will only be available in the United States, however they are working to have it available in major regions across the world shortly after. You can see that slide below.
