Curry exits with injury, should be fine for Game 1

Stephen Curry Warriors Steve Kerr On Steph Curry's Sprained Ankle: 'We Think He's Going To Be Fine'

New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis rubbed a whole lot of people the wrong way when he sported a T-shirt that read "That's all Folks!" during the Pelicans' season finale against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

The injury was initially reported as a mild foot sprain, but Kerr called it a sprained ankle.

Obviously, any injury to Curry is concerning, but his struggles with near career-derailing ankle injuries earlier in his career give a heightened sense of worry whenever Curry aggravates anything related to his ankle. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson were both rested in the Dubs' penultimate game of the season. He went back to the locker room and the team later announced he would not return "for precautionary reasons".

In fact, it was Curry who waved himself off after hitting a shot, clearly not willing to risk further damage with the playoff opener potentially as close as four days away. He scored five points in nine minutes before exiting the game against New Orleans.

"He's going to be fine", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game.

Warriors head coach Kerr said Curry's injury is not serious after his side extended their winning run to six matches, seeing off the Pelicans 112-103. How do they handle a meaningless regular-season game after already locking up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference?

In 2017, Curry also turned his right ankle on the Pelicans' home court.
