He says "the Fake News" has "photoshopped" pictures of Melania, but that's not where the pseudo-theory arose.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump tweeted about a recently revived conspiracy theory about his wife First Lady Melania Trump that made the rounds on Twitter last week: #FakeMelania.

"They are only getting more deranged with time!" said Trump. Most of the conspiracy theory lives on social media where people compare screenshots of live images from public events to other photos.

Following the president's tweet, Twitter users, and trolls with their tongues firmly in cheek, have posted side-by-side photographs of the pair, "analyzing" Melania's body language and appearance to "prove" the theory that she is, in fact, a doppelgänger.

"I've always found it sad that a group of women spend so much time attacking another woman, whose only goal is to help children", Stephanie Grisham told USA Today in an email. "I wasn't going to go along with this, but that one in that picture doesn't look like her".

But the US President has now hit back at the rumours - following fresh body double claims circulating earlier this week after the First Lady was pictured with her husband in Georgia, US. "It's a different shaped face".
