Past year all music uploaded to MySpace before 2015 had stopped working, according to reports from people who were still using the platform - now MySpace have confirmed that all songs uploaded to the platform have been lost.

MySpace loyalists, get ready to cry - the site has lost every song uploaded to it between 2003 and 2015.

Myspace isn't the online giant it used to be, but the site sure was huge back in its day: In 2006, it passed Google to become the most visited website in the United States. This weekend, a banner on the site announced that audio files uploaded more than three years may no longer be available.

If you were one of the millions of artists who uploaded music onto Myspace between 2003-2015, we hope you held onto those masters.

That relaunch also cleared much of the text content on the site, including "wall posts" between users.

That's right, the platform had more than 50 million songs from 14 million artists, and the company confirmed it's all gone.

And remember that time when you couldn't go to anyone's MySpace profile without NeverShoutNever's "Trouble" automatically playing?

"I'm deeply skeptical this was an accident". "Flagrant incompetence may be bad PR, but it still sounds better than, 'We can't be bothered with the effort and cost of migrating and hosting 50m old MP3s'".
