In keeping with its pattern of a March release for the last several years, Google has as of this afternoon launched the first developer preview of the next major version of Android - giving developers and early adopters a look at what's coming via a beta that's being made available for even more devices this time around.
While it's unclear if this means they will also get the final build of Android Q, due out in the third quarter of 2019 (so July to September), such a move does seem pretty likely now - otherwise why go through the trouble of outing beta builds for them in the first place?
Foldable phone improvements. Android Q will better support the foldable handsets that are just starting to appear this year, with new multi-resume and resizable app capabilities.
For those who have the percentage for their battery in the status bar turned on, this isn't a big deal; you don't really need to see the battery percentage in your quick settings again. The Android Q Beta 1 is aimed towards the developers for testing their apps for the new version of Android. This makes it possible for the apps to offer specialized blurs and bokeh options, create 3D images, or support AR photography use-cases.
Device location access
In terms of imaging, applications can now request a Dynamic Depth image that contains metadata surrounding the elements related to depth along with a confidence map in the same file.
Controlling apps that access photos, videos and audio files have become easier to manage on Android Q. Also, apps are required to use the system file picker inside the Downloads folder so that users can choose which files can be access by the app. The OS version also supports foldable screens.
Google is giving developers the ability to incorporate a system settings panel right within their app, allowing you to do things like turn on wi-fi or airplane mode without ever leaving your browser. There's no telling what apps or services will break due to changes made throughout the beta process. You can also set a custom wallpaper for the desktop. At the other end of the scale, there's a Wi-Fi performance mode to increase speed and lower latency at the expense of battery life. There's a new Sharing Shortcuts feature that "let users jump directly into another app to share content".
Now for the important question... Android Q updates transport layer security to TLS 1.3, which Google claims can establish a secured connection 40 percent faster than TLS 1.2.

To be clear, the employee-shifting that's been reported seems to be concentrated for now within Google's tablet and laptop teams. Rumors of a Pixelbook 2 have been swirling since the company's hardware event last October though it has yet to be released.
He did admit, however, that Trump would be "pretty disappointed" if Kim Jong-un made a decision to test launch another missile. He added, "We see exactly what they're doing now". "We look every day at the intelligence".
