Lady Gaga and Celine Dion recently removed their duets with R. Kelly from streaming services and French rock band Phoenix apologized for collaborating with the singer in 2013.

R. Kelly's announcement was met with criticism on social media.

The embattled singer revealed Tuesday he will be performing in Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, although no dates have been announced.

R. Kelly has denied all allegations, and has said he plans to sue everyone involved in the documentary, including the alleged victims.

"Labor strongly supports the refusal or cancellation of visas of non-citizens on character or criminal grounds", the party said in a statement.

The country has previously denied visas to Chris Brown and Floyd Mayweather, the paper reported.

A tweet from Kelly's Twitter account about touring New Zealand has been deleted.

In 2017 a Buzzfeed article suggested Kelly was holding at least six women in Chicago and Atlanta against their will. "For any reason. At all", another user expressed. The company did not immediately respond to Variety's request for comment.

Because of allegations of sexual abuse surrounding the singer, Shayne Neumann, the Labor party's shadow minister for immigration and border protection in Australia, suggested his party would support Kelly being denied a visa, according to United Kingdom paper The Independent.

"In the wake of a Lifetime documentary "Suriving R-Kelly" in which multiple women, including his ex-wife, made on-camera allegations of emotional, sexual and physical abuse we need to let David Coleman, Minister for Immigration and Border Control that we don't want R-Kelly here!" the petition reads.

"The allegations aren't true because he never knowingly had sex with an underage woman", attorney Steve Greenberg said in an interview with the Associated Press.

If you or someone you know think they are being abused, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 (SAFE) or 1-800-787-3224 (TTY) now for anonymous, confidential help, available 24/7.
