CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (AP) - Brooklyn's Joe Harris held off Golden State's Stephen Curry to win the 3-point contest at All-Star Saturday night.

Stephen and Seth Curry both grew up in Charlotte while their father, Dell Curry, was a member of the Hornets.

Harris was in the 3-point contest for a reason, and he was able to win because he is one of the NBA's elite shooters this season.

"He just dabbed me and said he had my back, " Harris said.

After Harris put up 26 to start the final round, Sacramento Kings swingman Buddy Hield managed just 19, clearing the way for Curry to win it at the end. That bet was settled quickly, after Steph made the last 10 shots in the first round, and Seth was knocked out.

Harris scored 25 points in the first round to earn a spot in the finals. "He was probably the only one over there who thought I was going to win".

All-Star Weekend is one of the most festive parts of the National Basketball Association season, and one of the staples of event are all the epic parties that go down.

"I've said it a lot this weekend that a lot of guys in this league have got a unique path", Harris said.

"Honestly, I didn't think about it when I was out there", Stephen said of the bet. "So I will remember this for a long time".

The Warriors' star made his first nine shots of the final round, then missed three of five shots from the top of the key.

This is the second time Curry has lost the coveted 3-point contest.
