Players can now take control of Geralt of Rivia in Monster Hunter: World, as the crossover event between The Witcher 3 and Capcom's title has gone live on PS4 and Xbox One.

According to Capcom, the event features new quests that blend the RPG mechanics of The Witcher 3 into Monster Hunter World. We will convey to you about the update as soon as possible.

The first part of the event is live now, consisting of a new Contract called Trouble in the Ancient Forest, which is playable by anybody who has reached Hunter Rank 16 or above. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which released in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, won a total of 250 Game of the Year awards. You will also be able to engage in conversations with other characters and the choices you make will determine the outcome of the story as it unfolds.

You'll be able to get stuck into The Witcher III crossover event as soon as you've grabbed the latest Monster Hunter World update, which is free to download. The character is playable in the Contract: Woodland Spirit quest, which also comes with similar rewards upon completion. Be sure to use Geralt's silver sword and combat magic.

The rewards for completing both contracts are pretty nifty too: "Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest" will grant you resources for crafting Geralt's armour and weapon set, a new skin and weapon for your Palico companion, and new gestures, titles, and poses. We couldn't have done it, of course, without the close collaboration of CD Projekt Red.

In addition to the content out today, there will be a new mission coming our way this February 15 for veteran Monster Hunter World players! "We're still working with them right now on the content and I think you're really going to enjoy it".
