Lopez added that Lexar's new 1TB SD card "offers a solution for content creators who shoot large volumes of high-resolution images and 4K video".

Lexar has announced the launch of a 1TB SD card at the ongoing CES 2019 tech fair in Las Vegas. Lexar is looking to ease storage anxiety by revealing the Professional 633x SDXC UHS-1 card, which crams in a terabyte of solid state memory. It's the first 1TB SDXC card to be available on the market.

The Class 10 space monster makes use of UHS-1 technology to deliver read speeds of up to 95 MB/s, but the V30/U3 rating only promises a minimum sequential write speed of 30 MB/s.

Lexar fifteen years ago announced a 1GB S card.

Photographers and videographers that constantly swap SD cards throughout busy workday may be in luck. So, it has the capacity and speed to transfer 4K video, as well as 1080p and 3D video. So, the Lexar's latest SD card is the first commercially available 1TB SD card you can actually buy.

Now if photography and video capture isn't your bag and you've just shrugged at this news, then it's worth noting that Lexar's new SD card is indicative of the leaps and bounds SD storage has come on in the past decade or so.

But all that convenience comes at a cost, of course.
