"The World Boxing Council conducted a voting through the Board of Governors, which resulted in a unanimous agreement to sanction a direct rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury", a statement read.

Attention will swiftly turn toward both camps, and how they carry out negotiations between themselves regarding the critical details surrounding this rematch: Where/when will it take place?

The thing is though, okay, granted, Wilder might not have the technical acumen in terms of pure boxing skills of Fury, but, at the end of the day, that power he has will always give him a chance against anybody.

"The WBC is happy to confirm a direct rematch has been approved and will create in a ruling which will also consider the mandatory status of the division".

With that in mind, it makes sense for Wilder vs Fury II to coincide with AJ's fight pattern, which starts again on April 13 at Wembley.

"I'm willing and ready to give Fury the opportunity ASAP".

Many thought Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) did enough to win despite being knocked down twice.

Fury's promoter Frank Warren said he and the British Boxing Board of Control would write to the WBC demanding another bout and asking for an explanation of the scoring, with Mexican judge Alejandro Rochin having awarded Wilder seven of the 12 rounds.

"Life goes on. I got robbed blind in America, the world knows it, but we're going to go on and look ahead to the next fight".

However, he was forced to settle for a controversial split decision draw.

Fury said he had "never seen a worse decision in his life" and described it as a "gift" for his opponent. He needs banning from boxing forever.

The Gypsy King's request has been met by the WBC, who can demand certain bouts for their world champions. "He must be thanking his lucky stars he still has the green and gold belt as that belt belongs to me".
