The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today brought some festive cheer to the Royal Air Force personnel who will be stationed in Cyprus over the Christmas period by delivering presents from their families.

The Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace, London, where she is a hosting a Christmas party for families and children of deployed personnel from RAF Coningsby and RAF Marham serving in Cyprus.

Children's entertainer George Whitefield, who put on the event, said Prince William 'saw I had some in my hand and he had a little mischievous nod and wink and looked like he wanted one to throw back at us'.

"But on behalf of everyone back home, we would like to say thank you", William said.

Kate seemed to be channeling her sister-in-law's style as she arrived in Cyprus wearing wide-legged pants, left.

After attending the Queen's diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace last night, the couple flew out of RAF Brize Norton early this morning. "As someone whose husband served, I know how hard it feels when a loved one leaves home to do the job they trained for", the duchess said, as Prince William previously served as a RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot.

William and Kate met a boy whose dad is in Cyprus, while his mum posted to Afghanistan. The royal couple also passed out presents to the Squadron 11.

Staff sergeant David Blayney, from the Cyprus Operational Support Unit, was in the crowds with his family waiting for the Duke and Duchess.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge found themselves in a snowball fight as they hosted more than 200 wives, girlfriends, parents and grandparents separated from loved ones over Christmas.

"But I'm very, very grateful that the Royal Household put that together for our families, because it's more hard for the people at home".

They're seeing troops who will spend the festive season away from their loved ones. But People reports that during the festivities, Kate pointed out one of Prince William's very un-royal habit.
