Cleveland center Tristan Thompson has been fined $15,000 for his "inappropriate gesture" toward a fan after the Cavaliers' 99-97 victory over the Nets in Brooklyn, the National Basketball Association said Thursday.

Tristan Thompson has been fined $15,000, for flipping off fans during a game earlier this week.

Thompson helped the Cavs get their fifth win of the season in more ways than one against the Nets.

Thompson's fine is relatively small in comparison to punishments a few other National Basketball Association players have faced in recent weeks.

Video obtained by TMZ shows Thompson guarding Spencer Dinwiddie on a 3-point attempt.

Shortly after his performance, he joined the Cavs broadcast for a post-game interview and demanded "they better put some respect on my name". Warriors forward Kevin Durant was hit with a $25,000 fine last month for telling a fan to "watch the f-ing game and shut the f- up".
