President Trump is "very friendly" towards Kim Jong-un and wants to make his wishes come true in return for denuclearisation, President Moon of South Korea said on his return from the G20 summit.

The South Korean daily Hankyoreh reported that Moon was angry about press reports claiming discord between the US and South Korea.

South Korea's Moon has facilitated a series of high-level talks between the USA and North Korea, including a summit between Trump and Kim in June, and has met Kim three times this year.

North Korea has sought security guarantees from the U.S. and relief from worldwide sanctions.

The presumed birthday of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un remains unmarked in the North's calendars for 2019.

South Korea's president said Tuesday no timeframe has been set for a historic visit to Seoul by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un despite both hoping it will take place this year.

"We're getting along very well", Trump said aboard Air Force One on Thursday as he prepared to travel to the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

When asked about a future meeting, Trump said: "I think we're going to do one fairly (soon) - into January, February, I think".

After Trump and Kim met in Singapore in June, negotiations between Washington and Pyongyang have stalled due to differences on the scale of denuclearization, USA sanctions, and whether to issue a war-ending declaration, among others.

The South Koreangovernment wants to achieve peace and denuclearize the Korean Peninsula within the next five years, local media reported Monday, citing the government's report for the parliament.

They agreed on the need for "maintaining vigorous enforcement of existing sanctions to ensure the DPRK understands that denuclearization is the only path", Sanders said, using the North's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Moon said a second summit between Kim and Trump will prove to be the "most critical moment" for North Korea's denuclearisation.

Moon said that Seoul shares the same stance as Wellington in rejecting protectionism and defending free trade.

If that happens, he would be the first North Korean leader to do so since the end of the 1950-1953 Korean War, though the plan is still unclear.
