Zoysa, who retired from global cricket in 2007, is on indefinite leave from his role as Sri Lanka A bowling coach after being charged with three counts of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption code. Owing to the seriousness of the charges, the Sri Lankan bowling coach has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect.

Those charges include: trying to fix an worldwide match, trying to recruit another player to do so and failing to report approaches.

"Zoysa, the former left-arm pacer, has 14 days from November 1 to respond to the charges".

Former captain and selector Sanath Jayasuriya was charged with two counts of breaching the ICC's anti-corruption code earlier this month.

Nuwan Zoysa, a former global who played 30 Tests and 95 ODIs from 1997-2007, has 30 days to respond to three charges from the ICC's anti-corruption unit.

Jayasuriya, 49, was reportedly asked to cooperate with an inquiry from ACU chief Alex Marshall who visited Sri Lanka last month.

Another Sri Lanka coach lower down in the organisation is also expected to be charged soon as a widespread investigation into fixing comes to a head.

Colombo has also promised to establish a special police unit to investigate match-fixing after a documentary aired in May showed Galle groundsman Tharanga Indika and professional cricketer Tharindu Mendis allegedly talking about doctoring the pitch for the Test against England starting November 6.

Jayasuriya was charged with trying to hide, destroy or tamper with evidence that could be crucial to the anti-corruption investigation.
