Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus trolls with high tackle video

The match-defining moment has many wondering about the interpretations of the law.

On this occasion Australian referee Angus Gardner decided Farrell made "enough of an effort" with his arms, deeming no punishment was necessary and allowing England to hold on for a 12-11 win.

Erasmus suggested at the Springboks' post-match press conference that his team would start tackling opponents in a similar manner if it were legal to do so.

"No, but we did speak about the tackle", he said.

"Nothing upset me about the tackle".

South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus was asked about the tackle after the game and gave a brilliant sarcastic response, saying the tackle was very "effective" and that "we should do it".

Erasmus, whose side face France in Paris this weekend, consequently headed out to the training ground and, conscious the cameras were on him, took Esterhuizen to one side to show him how to tackle just like Farrell. "We will make our decision on Tuesday night".

Esterhuizen began by hitting the tackle bag low down before Erasmus, in jest, persists to point to the top of the bag and urges his player to use his shoulder more forcefully.

Watson told Netwerk24 on Monday that Farrell's tackle "was dangerous".

"I think we are getting there, and we are working on how to vary our game so that we can constantly look for opportunities".

"It was not worthy of a red card and it was right that World Rugby did not cite the player, but there's not much doubt that it should have been a penalty", Watson said.
