That doesn't mean Saints coach Sean Payton can say anything about it, however.

Since signing with the Los Angeles Rams - Marcus Peters has been somewhat of a disappointment, but the team remained undefeated despite his struggles.

"They were going to travel Marcus to him and that was fine by us", he said during the postgame presser. "We thought we really liked that matchup - a lot". After Thursday's practice he addressed the coach's comments.

And if there is any added friction due to a little bit of smack-talking between Peters and Payton, well, then that will just make it all the more entertaining.

"Yeah, because I liked what he was saying on the sidelines, too", Peters said.

"Tell him, 'Keep talking that s-". You feel me? Yeah.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to see if the Saints have a similar game plan in the playoffs. Thomas may have won Offensive Player of the Week with Peters covering him, but he's not really someone you want to target, as he's a turnover-producing machine.

Thomas had a career day against Peters and the Rams, setting a new franchise record for most receiving yards in a single game with 211, catching 12-of-15 passes and six of eight when covered by Peters. It might be worth it just to see if Peters and Payton had anything to say to each other after the game. "S-- happens like that in football".
