Mitch McConnell confronted while dining at Louisville restaurant

McConnell, Pelosi Harassed By Angry Protesters WATCH: Mitch McConnell Confronted By Protesters At Restaurant
Charles Bowen | 21 October, 2018, 13:39

Customers at a diner suggested "leave [Mitch McConnell] alone" after an angry protester attempted to coerce the Senate Majority Leader and his wife into leaving.

The video starts with him yelling at McConnell and arguing with Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao - to whom McConnell is married.

"Why don't you leave the entire country?" the man told Mr. McConnell, as seen in video footage of the encounter recorded from across the restaurant and first published by TMZ.

Someone else can be heard yelling "Ditch Mitch!"

McConnell was confronted by four men.

The Courier Journal reported that a man picked up McConnell's leftovers and dumped them out on the sidewalk during the incident and that a woman in the restaurant "approached their table" and called McConnell a "traitor" before leaving.

While the protesters yelled, a group of other diners barked back in defense of McConnell.

McConnell kept his cool and afterward thanked some of his supporters, shaking their hands. "Chao enjoyed their meal in Louisville last night and they appreciate those who spoke up against incivility". "As the leader often says, the Senate will not be intimidated by the antics of far-left protestors". The two were forced to leave as protesters screamed at him over his support for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who was not yet a Supreme Court justice and had been accused of sexual assaulting a woman 36 years earlier.
