He was especially excited about Nashville Nightmare, having previously enjoyed other attractions by the Texas-basproduction company, Thirteenth Floor Attractions.

A mix-up has seen a visitor to a Halloween haunted house attraction accidentally stabbed with a real knife.

Yochim says he still loves visiting haunted houses.

James "Jay" Yochim, 29, was slashed in the arm by his friend Tawyna Greenfield at the Nashville Nightmare attraction in Tennessee last Friday, leaving him in need of hospital treatment.

Yochim's group started laughing and joking with someone they thought was a cast member. "I go all out for decorating".

The "staff member" then reacted with horror telling the group, "oh, I didn't know my knife was that sharp".

"We are still confirming the facts, but I can tell you that on Friday night, a male patron was injured by a fellow patron outside the Nashville Nightmare house". There were character actors in a courtyard space near the escape game building and carnival games where the group was standing.

In the report, Greenfield told police that she did not intend to injure her friend.

After being chased with chainsaws and other weapons all night, the girl thought the weapon was fake, so she stabbed Yochim in the forearm.

'So she stabs at me with it, and everything got really black. "I didn't know. I'm so sorry"'.

"No one wants to stab their friend", Yochim said, according to The Tennessean. No weapons are allowed inside the attraction. Through a statement, the organizers of Nashville Nightmare said an employee believed to be involved has been placed on leave until they can determine his involvement. "We are going over all of our safety protocols with all of our staff again, as the safety and security of all of our patrons is always our main concern". Though it didn't hit any major arteries, bones, or tendons, "his arm was gushing blood like something out of a horror scene", Greenfield tells Fox 17.

He was taken by ambulance to the ER at Tristar Skyline in Madison. He received nine stitches at a hospital, according to the newspaper. An initial police report said the suspect had not been identified.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday. They have yet to be contacted by police but will cooperate fully with any official investigation.
