Former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant is searching for his next football home after deciding to transfer and receiving his release papers from Clemson last week.

Bryant told Rivals.com that he will follow his unofficial visit to Chapel Hill up with an official visit to Arkansas for the Razorbacks game against Tulsa on October 20.

Bryant, a senior from Calhoun Falls, S.C., can now take advantage of a new NCAA rule which allows football players to play up to four games a season without losing a season of eligibility. His plan is to wrap up the academic semester at Clemson, before enrolling early at the school of his choice in January.

Bryant has scheduled a visit to North Carolina for this weekend and Arkansas next weekend, a source told The State. The Tar Heels are 1-3 overall.

Bryant had made over 18 starts over the last two seasons, with Clemson going 16-2 over those games.

Bryant announced on September 26 that he was transferring from Clemson, two days after Tigers freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence was named the starting quarterback for the game against Syracuse for that weekend.

Marquise Williams left after the 2015 season, completing a four-year career with 7,965 passing yards and 2,458 rushing yards. He led the team to an 11-1 regular season record, an ACC Coastal Division championship and spot in the ACC title game.

North Carolina has had quarterback issues since Mitchell Trubisky left following the 2016 season.

Some other schools worth watching that are in contention for Bryant include Missouri, Louisville, Baylor and West Virginia.
