"First time I've seen an on-duty princess shut her own auto door", wrote one Twitter user.

All eyes were on Meghan, 37, as she went on her first ever solo appearance as a royal for an event in London, United Kingdom.

While Harry apparently finds Markle's fashion sexy, her style is definitely pushing the limits of what members of the royal family are usually allowed to wear.

But breaking royal protocols is nothing new for Markle, who also shut her own vehicle door during the outing.

Mr Edwards said: "I heard she was in tears when she heard her father wasn't coming to give her away, but she hid it well, she looked magnificent on her wedding day".

"Usually, if you are a member of the royal family or a dignitary, you have a member of staff to open and close a auto door for you", adding that having somebody else close the door for a royal is for security reasons rather than "airs and graces".

But her simple gesture sparked a huge debate on social media about whether she broke royal protocol by closing her own vehicle door. After shaking his hand, Markle then closed the door by herself.

People Magazine believes it's all down to Meghan being a feminist - and the second video at the bottom of the page confirms she's done it before.

"Yay Meghan! She's a real, regular princess/person", one wrote. "He probably assumed that someone else (not her) was going to close it".

"Bodysuits are a very smart way of dressing as they never bunch or ruche under outfits, meaning she can get on with the business of being a duchess, rather than worrying that her top is untucking itself".

Others however, were utterly stunned that Meghan closing a vehicle door was making news.
