A NASA spacecraft has taken off on an historic mission towards the Sun in a delayed launch at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
The mission will last 6 years and 11 months, and in that time the Parker probe will orbit the sun 24 times. The reason for the delay was not immediately clear, but was called for after a gaseous helium alarm was sounded in the last moments before liftoff, officials said.
Perhaps most important for us humans, the science undertaken with the help of the Parker Solar Probe will likely improve our ability to forecast space weather - including solar flares that can disrupt signals from satellites and, in extreme cases, can even blow out transformers on our terrestrial power grids.
The $1.5 billion (£1.2 billion) probe, which is the size of the auto, will play a vital role in our understanding of the solar system.
The probe is created to plunge into the Sun's atmosphere, known as the corona, during a seven-year mission.
That's around 4 per cent of the distance between the earth and the sun.
NASA has billed the mission as the first spacecraft to "touch the Sun".
Knowing more about the solar wind and space storms will also help protect future deep space explorers as they journey toward the Moon or Mars.
The Parker Solar Probe carries a lineup of instruments to study the Sun both remotely and in situ, or directly. We are ready. We have the ideal payload.
Through this mission, NASA is hoping to solve decades-old mysteries around what accelerates the solar winds that affect Earth and other planets. The corona holds the answers to many of scientists' outstanding questions about the Sun's activity and processes.
The tools on board will measure the expanding corona and continually flowing atmosphere known as the solar wind, which solar physicist Eugene Parker first described in 1958.
During its historic journey, the probe will jet past Venus at speeds of 430,000 miles per hour, the equivalent of flying from NY to Tokyo in one minute. "Parker Solar Probe would be just 4cm away from the Sun".
Built like a boxing heavyweight, no-one could lay a glove on him on this course that plays into the hands of the big hitters. And he made it look ever so easy, bludgeoning his drives massive distances and honing in on the pins with unerring accuracy.
However, they will certainly need to be more clinical and penetrative if they are to build on last season's fine work. There were howls of protest from the stands, but Huddersfield's players were broadly quiet, and rightly so.
The move saw News Corp's (which owns Fox Sports ) equity in Foxtel rise to 65% and Telstra's share reduced to 35%. The number of subscribers to Foxtel grew 2% to 2.8 million in the year to 30 June 2018.
But getting so close to the Sun requires slowing down - for which Parker will use the gravity of our neighbor planet, Venus. Many were skeptical and told him to read up on it first "so you don't make these killer mistakes", he recalls.
Unlike Steam, which appears to be a veritable free-for-all for publishers and users alike, Discord aims to handpick its games. However, the new store will be different from Steam's, which has become a platform where nearly anyone can sell a game.
He added: "After the World Cup I am the same". "In the periods Leicester were stronger we played as a team and coped well". Scholes said the club has undoubtedly brought in talented managers, but they still lack the edge when it matters the most.
Anderson finished with five for 20, but he hailed the contribution of Chris Woakes , who took two wickets including the key... But Woakes, who had scored nine previous first-class hundreds, and Jonny Bairstow (93) turned the tide during a stand of 189.
Mourinho also confirmed Pogba had his blessing to take the penalty after what appeared to be a disagreement with Alexis Sanchez . Lukaku then passed up a golden chance when Schmeichel spread himself well to turn the Belgian's effort over the bar.

He scored his first senior team goal with a lovely move around his defender and a fine finish to the far post. That's not surprising, because I know from experience that everyone is a bit rusty for the first game back.
