Sony's Santa Monica Studio is giving players a great reason to replay the PS4 exclusive when it launches New Game Plus.

The patch will arrive on 20th August 2018, and will allow you to play New Game+ - that is, a mode that lets you carry over your level, stats, upgrades, and armour from your initial playthrough to a new one.

It sounds like New Game Plus should be a pretty challenging mode, especially for those who decide to play through it on one of the game's harder difficulties (just imagine how tough the Valkyries are going to be).

Another feature of New Game+ is the ability to skip cut scenes - a much-requested option from the game's fan base. It's not entirely clear whether that means that we'll see new enemies on top of old ones, but the team did suggest that numerous game's old enemies will be packing some "new tricks up their sleeves".

God of War is available for the PlayStation 4.

Relive the journey of Kratos and Atreus with all of your previous armors, enchantments, talismans, resources and abilities on the difficulty of your choosing.

Test your skills against higher level enemies; some of which might even have a few new tricks up their sleeves! You could also find new armor sets and enchantments. Plus, you can make the father and son stronger better by gathering the Skap Slag resource to make and upgrade equipment.

Lastly, the studio also confirmed that you will be able to skip cinematic moments in God Of War when this new update hits.
