Juventus kick off their Serie A title defence at Chievo next Saturday and all eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo to see if he can replicate his incredible La Liga goalscoring form in Serie A. Spoiler, he probably can.

Cristiano Ronaldo took just eight minutes to open his account for Juventus in a traditional friendly.

The game, between Juventus A and Juventus B, is played yearly in the town of Villar Perosa outside of Turin.

After the game, fans at the game, who had come in their numbers to catch a glimpse of their new number 7, flooded onto the pitch.

Ronaldo's arrival had sparked rumours that the match would be moved to the Allianz Stadium, but the club chose to stick with the traditional bucolic setting.

Fans tried to get whatever autographs and photos they could - even stripping returning centre-back Leonardo Bonucci down to his underwear - before Ronaldo emerged from the changing room surrounded by security guards and fans surged towards the barrier separating them from the players.

The 33-year-old was brought off at half-time, but not before one over-affectionate fan ran on to the pitch and locked him in a hug which required the help of two stewards to get out of. He was all alone and finished into the left side of the goal easily.

In 2017/18, Ronaldo was his usual dominant self in Europe as he smashed 15 goals to top the Champions League scoring charts and fired Real Madrid to continental glory for the third straight year.

How many goals do you think Ronaldo will score this season?

Interest in Juve and in Italian football has spiked following Ronaldo's arrival.
