UK parliament vote to reveal extent of anger over May's Brexit plan

"We could go for no deal, no deal is still there, it is still possible, but I think the best thing for the United Kingdom is to have deal that sets a good relationship with our trading partners in the future", she told BBC1's The Andrew Marr Show.

"If we don't, we risk ending up with no Brexit at all".

"It is why I think she is a Remainer who has remained a Remainer", he told BBC1's Sunday Politics.

And if any Remainers in her party vote with Labour to urge her to negotiate a customs union with the EU, she said "this would be the ultimate betrayal of the Brexit vote".

The most dramatic resignations over Mrs May's Brexit plan, subsequently set out in a white paper to parliament, saw former Brexit secretary David Davis and ex-foreign secretary Boris Johnson step down from government.

"We need to keep our eyes on the prize".

The Brexit minister who resigned alongside David Davis last Sunday says the prime minister has presided over a "cloak and dagger" plot to undermine Brexit, which will blow apart the public trust in democracy, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Theresa May has insisted her plan for Brexit is a strong one - and will continue to push for a fair deal.

The bill is also due to have its third reading on Monday, and it could be in jeopardy if the angry Tory Brexiters join with Labour, the SNP and the Lib Dems, who are expected to vote against it.

Writing in the Times, Greening has proposed a second Brexit referendum with three options, with the electorate allowed to express a first and second preference.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will face the anger of Brexit supporters in her party on Monday when they try to force her to change course on her strategy for leaving the European Union.

She tweeted: "Welcome Justine Greening to Peoples Vote". Asked if any other senior Tories backed a second referendum, she said: "Yes I believe so".

Jacob Rees-Mogg said the prime minister was "oddly secretive" about her plans, while the paper adds former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson "is preparing a bombshell speech" over his resignation. I think it was a genuine clever attempt at a compromise that could work.

Tory Brexiteer Bernard Jenkin suggested Mrs May's Chequers plan was "dead".

Speaking to the BBC's Andrew Marr, May indicated she would seek to fight off any challenge that emerged before the summer recess, saying: "I want to focus people's minds on how you ensure you achieve that prize, the benefits of leaving the European Union".

"If we wanted to extend the uncertainty for another long period this is one way of doing it", he told Today.

Amid continuing divisions in the Conservative Party, the BBC understands the government is considering accepting key amendments tabled by Tory MPs opposed to Mrs May's Brexit plan, to avoid a rebellion in the House of Commons.

"So I would hope and expect that those of my colleagues that want to get on with Brexit would recognise that this Bill is essential".

'I've put down some amendments and we'll see what support they get, ' he said on Sunday.
