Christie brand Ritz Bits Sandwiches in cheese and pizza flavours sold across the country are being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

There have been no complaints of illness reported to Mondelez in connection with the crackers, .

However, consumers should discard any of these products they may have, the company said.

Last week, Salmonella concerns prompted Flowers Foods to issue a similar nationwide recall for Swiss Rolls and a recall limited to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and SC for Captain John Derst's Old Fashioned Bread.

This recall is limited exclusively to the products listed in the grid below, available at retail stores nationwide.

The company says the recalled products contain whey powder as an ingredient that the supplier recalled due to the potential presence of the microorganism.

"Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections", the agency warns.

Symptoms include headache, fever, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
