Pokemon Go first launched on the App Store on July 6th, 2016, which makes today its second anniversary. It's basically beach Pikachu, minus a drink in a cocktail glass since Pokemon are usually for children, you know. Everyone with a gold Pikachu Fan medal will be able to purchase all the festive items, like a T-shirt and Pikachu ears. On its first anniversary, Pikachu donned Ash Ketchum's signature cap, after a party hat for Pokemon Day in February previous year and was followed by a Santa hat during the U.S. holiday season. To celebrate the game's second birthday, Niantic is letting Pikachu in on the sunglasses fun alongside our boy Squirtle. Special Research quests afford players the opportunity to catch a mythical Pokemon, and the last time it was available was three months ago for the legendary Mew. It will take place from Wednesday, August 29 to Sunday, September 2.
