Oscar-winning actress to stop in Central Texas on book tour

It's set for release September 18, and she'll be in Birmingham two days later to talk about it.

"Academy Award-winning actress, producer, and entrepreneur Reese Witherspoon invites you into her world, where she infuses the southern style, parties, and traditions she loves with contemporary flair and charm", Barnes and Noble explains.

The book goes on sale September 18; the star will take the stage at Belk at 7:30 p.m. the following evening to "share personal stories", talk about "how she entertains, decorates her home, and makes holidays special for her family", and explain to fans "just how easy it is to bring a little bit of Reese's world into their home, no matter where they live".

"My grandmother Dorothea always said that it was a combination of beauty and strength that made Southern women 'whiskey in a teacup". I'm so excited to share that I'm bringing #WhiskeyInATeacup to your city!

She will be in town to promote her new book, "Whiskey in a Teacup".

Witherspoon will release "Whiskey In A Teacup" on September 18 and is scheduled to stop by the Magnolia Silos in Waco a few days later.

"Whiskey in a Teacup" ($35 hardcover, Touchstone) is part memoir, part recipe collection and part how-to guide.

"I'm so excited my new book is coming out Sep 18th, y'all!" she said when she announced the news.

Witherspoon has enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood for more than 20 years.

Presales for the "Whiskey in a Teacup Tour" begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10. She won a Best Actress Oscar in 2006 for her role as country singer June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line". She will also share tips about home decor.
