Movie star is getting bashed for warning illegal immigrants about ICE

"Everyone better give their housekeepers, nannies and landscapers a ride home tonight", she wrote.

Feeling the heat. Amber Heard is trying to explain what some have criticized as a "racist" tweet.

The issue? The message played into the stereotype that service-workers, such as housekeepers, nannies, and landscapers, would need to worry about an ICE checkpoint due to their legal status, reinforcing the idea that all or most people who hold such jobs arrived in the country illegally.

Replies to Heard's deleted tweet that were captured by an archived version of the post revealed that the actress' fans were not having her line of reasoning.

And the response to Heard's Tweet was quick and brutal.

"Just heard there's an ICE checkpoint in hollywood, a few blocks from where I live".

The actress tweeted out a warning early Wednesday morning, according to TMZ, warning of immigration checkpoints in the center of the movie world.

Though her original message was muddled on Twitter, Heard's recent political activism points to just a poor choice of words this time.

One person responded, "I can see where you were going but somewhere along the way you took a wrong turn".

Heard, who was born and raised in Texas, called the US border her home, saying she often crossed into Mexico as a child, according to Buzzfeed. Typical rich b--", snarled one critic, while another wrote, "You're a disgrace. "It's hard for everyone to not be negatively affected by this subject in some way", she said.

Amber's Twitter controversy emerges days after she joined fellow celebrity activists, including Lena Dunham, Bella Thorne, Joshua Jackson, Sia, and Mira Sorvino, outside a Tornillo, Texas detention facility on June 24 to protest the Trump administration's former policy of separating children from their parents after entering the US illegally.

A second added: "Girl, I THINK you meant well, but this... this ain't it".

The star posted a slew of pictures to her Instagram last week while attending a #KeepFamiliesTogether rally in Marcelino Serna Port of Entry in Texas, her home state. "Holocaust was legal. Legality is a matter of power, not justice".
