President Donald Trump's longtime fixer Michael Cohen hired Bill Clinton's former lawyer, Lanny Davis, to help deal with a federal probe of Cohen's businesses and finances. "As an attorney, I have talked to Michael many times in the last two weeks". The onetime stalwart Trump footsoldier also hinted he may have information on what the President knew about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting and hush money payment to Stormy Daniels. While Cohen has not been charged with anything yet, he is under criminal investigation in NY.

Giuliani said he does not know if Trump promised in advance to reimburse Cohen for the $130,000, but said he believes Cohen "knew he'd be reimbursed".

"Michael Cohen should cooperate with the government", Mr. Giuliani said Sunday on ABC's "This Week".

In an ABC News interview, Cohen explicitly said his first loyalty was not to Trump but to his family and country.

"This is something he would have paid for no matter what", Giuliani said.

Cohen's payment to Daniels has generated controversy since it was first reported in January.

The president defended the payment, explaining that it was made through a monthly retainer he had with Cohen.

"I have no concerns that Michael Cohen is going to do anything but tell the truth", he said.

Davis joins Guy Petrillo, a former federal prosecutor in NY, who is also representing Cohen.
