Kenedy 'agrees' Newcastle return

Chelsea's Kenedy has medical ahead of Newcastle loan return - sources Report: Kenedy completes Newcastle United medical ahead of loan move

The winger spent the second half of last season on loan from Chelsea.

If the move goes through, Kenedy will once again be looking to play on a regular basis under Benitez at Newcastle.

The Daily Mail report Chelsea are keen to allow Kenedy more first-team opportunities and Newcastle can provide that opportunity.

There was hope at Chelsea that Kenedy could establish himself as an alternative to Marcos Alonso at left wing-back but he did not earn Conte's trust, making only five appearances across the Carabao Cup and FA Cup between August and January.

He became a fan favourite during his short spell and now Rafael Benitez wants the 22-year-old to return. Others including Bayern Munich, PSG and even Liverpool have shown interest. But Kenedy would still prefer Newcastle for there he could play a full season on the pitch rather than on the bench.

The uncertainty around Chelsea's managerial situation has meant it has been unclear who would be loaned out by the Blues this summer.

Antonio Conte's future will have a telling effect on Kenedy's next move.

Kenedy returned to pre-season training with Chelsea on Monday, but will now travel to Newcastle on Monday evening ahead of the move.

And it appears that Kenedy's return to Tyneside will be confirmed imminently, with the Daily Mail reporting that the winger has agreed to come back for another loan spell for the coming campaign.
