Brock Lesnar Enters the Octagon at UFC 226 & Shoves New Heavyweight Champion

UFC 226: Heavy Hitters Vie for Crown Brock Lesnar Will Face Daniel Cormier For The UFC Heavyweight Title

Brock Lesnar entered the Octagon and went after Daniel Cormier after he beat Stipe Miocic to become the second fighter to hold two UFC championships in two divisions at the same time after Conor McGregor.

In UFC 226's headline fight, lightweight champion Cormier faced heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. After some trash talk from Cormier, the WWE star got on the microphone and cut an expletive filled promo that ended with him saying, "D.C. ..." Lesnar then proceeded to insult Francis Ngannou and Miocic before telling Cormier he's coming for the belt.

The fireworks weren't over after the right hand put Miocic down and out.

"Yeah, you're strong, but everybody's strong." an incensed Cormier said.

White confirmed that process is underway, which would make Lesnar eligible for a return to the Octagon as early as January of next year. "But I don't know if he's going to be around".

WWE returned to Madison Square Garden on Saturday night for a live event, but their Universal Champion Brock Lesnar had much bigger matters to attend to.

"I was a heavyweight for a long time and I left the division".

All signs still point to Lesnar dropping the belt at SummerSlam or shortly thereafter. That result was later changed to a "no contest" after it was revealed Lesnar failed multiple drug tests.

It was pure pro wrestling promotion, but it starts the hype ahead of a potential matchup between the pair, with rumours circulating that they will meet at UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden in NY on 3 November. "You got a guy like Brock Lesnar in front of you and you won't fight him?" He wants Lesnar to do the USADA testing as well as additional testing, even if Cormier has to pay for it.

Lesnar didn't hesitate to get up and power his way through to Cormier, who he then roughly shoved backwards. "Fine, stay broke", Cormier said. The referee jumped on top of Miocic and stopped the fight to prevent any further damage.

Say what you will about the greatness of the sport for its technical gifts, but we are all just paying customers in White's circus tent.
