Police say it is their priority to find the container believed to have been handled by the pair.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We have arranged the transportation of a vehicle from an address in Swindon this evening in relation to the on-going incident in Amesbury".

She added that the overall threat to the public "remains low". "A dedicated phone line is up and running for anyone who has any concerns or information relating to this incident".

Two people were exposed to the nerve agent Novichok in Amesbury on 30 June.

A auto has been seized by police in Swindon as the novichok poisoning investigation expands to a third area.

When asked if the vehicle was being taken to the government laboratory at Porton Down for testing, there was no immediate response.

Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the UK's most senior counter-terrorism police officer, said there would need to be a forensic link to definitively prove a connection.

The mother of three died on Sunday night.

On Monday, Basu said Sturgess and Rowley received a high dose of novichok after handling a container containing the nerve agent.

Russian Federation has committed an attack that resulted in the death of a Briton, defense minister Gavin Williamson said on Monday, linking Russian Federation to the incident after a 44-year-old woman who was poisoned by nerve agent Novichok died.

A bus that Ms Sturgess and Mr Rowley used the night before they collapsed has also tested negative for the deadly agent.

There are also cordons at Queen Elizabeth Gardens in Salisbury, Amesbury Baptist Church and at the Boots store in The Centre in Amesbury, where the couple are known to have visited ahead of becoming unwell. Wiltshire police said all had been assessed, screened and discharged.

Addressing a near-empty Westminster hall, Javid stood up in the House of Commons to say he was confident "the whole house would join me in wishing them full and swift recovery".

A lot of government members were missing from the chamber because the Conservative 1922 parliamentary committee - which includes all Tory backbenchers - was taking place at the same time as the Home Secretary's Amesbury update. It was too small an amount to examine to see if it was from the same batch used in the March attack, making it more important that investigators hunt down the item that contaminated the British couple.

The defence secretary, Gavin Williamson, directly accused Moscow on Monday.
