Revelers toting rainbow flags flooded Tel Aviv on Friday, June 8, for an annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parade that Israel played up as evidence of its liberal values amid worldwide censure at its lethal response to Palestinian protests in Gaza.

It is held under the slogan "Community is part of the story" as this year marks 10 years since the founding of the Gay center in tel Aviv, 20 years since the first tel Aviv gay pride parade, and 70 years since the founding of the state of Israel. One of the main shows will be by Netta Barzilai, the Israeli victor of the 2018 Eurovision song contest.

Andy Cohen is celebrating LGBTQ rights!

"Celebrating pride in Tel Aviv is a lovely celebration of gay rights and visibility in a region where numerous neighbors can not live as their true selves or be who they were born to be", Andy said, "which makes it all the more special for this massive coming together in support of equality to be taking place in Tel Aviv". But even pinkwashing critics were welcomed in the parade, holding banners reading "No Pride in the Occupation" and "Stop shooting protestors".
