Oh No, Does the Pixel 3 XL Have a Full Glass Back?

Google Pixel 3 XL images reportedly leak out, show off a notch Leaked images of Google Pixel 3 XL surface online

The bezels around the Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 2 were certainly larger.

The device looks strikingly similar to the Pixel 2 XL from the back, with the only notable difference being that sensor that's placed in between the single rear camera and the LED flash - which has caused the latter to move a little bit to the right.

In either case, the phone here is shown in Fastboot Mode, revealing various aspects of the hardware. It's the larger of the two devices, and it's pretty similar to what we saw past year.

The alleged Google Pixel 3 XL prototype has just 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

As for the rear, it's nearly exactly identical to the Pixel 2 XL, except there's a new sensor in between the camera and the phone's flash. On the Google Pixel and Pixel 2, there was no curve - the break between metal and glass was a flat edge. In fact, the matte section looks nearly as though it's been painted on, and it doesn't run the whole way around the perimeter of the back, nor does it meet flush with the frame.

But the notch effect is good news if you want a bigger all-screen display from the Pixel 3 XL. The amusing logo on the back is probably just a way for Google to obfuscate the prototype, that will be replaced by the company's trademark G in final units. No Pixel device has ever been compatible with wireless chargers, though Google's Nexus 4 from all the way back in 2012 was compatible with the Qi protocol.

If you zoom, enhance, zoom, and enhance even more, you'll spot a curious and unique prototype logo that sits in the usual place of the G logo we all know and love. Even if it's true, it brings up so many more questions. There's also the smaller Pixel 3 to wonder about, which has been rumored not to receive a notch.

If a previous Bloomberg scoop was accurate, you could expect to see the finished version of the phone in October.
