Newly appointed Italian PM Conte speaks during his first session at the Senate in Rome 'Russia should be back in the G8': Italy's prime minister agrees with Donald Trump

President Donald Trump on Saturday said the United States will not endorse a G7 communique via a tweet that accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of making "false statements".

"He did a great disservice to the whole (G-7)", White House Economic Advisor Larry Kudlow told CNN.

Trudeau had announced that the G7 members - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the USA - had agreed upon a joint communiqué, or formal statement, after a hard week on trade issues.

Trudeau also said Canada would move forward with retaliatory measures on July 1 in response to tariffs on steel and aluminium imports into the USA from Canada, Mexico and European Union (EU) countries announced by Trump on May 31.

"Canadians are polite and reasonable but we will also not be pushed around", he said. Trump tweeted that Trudeau was "very dishonest & weak".

Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California appeared after Kudlow on the same program and called Trump's decision to not sign the communique a "mistake".

Trump and Trudeau exchanged barbs after a highly contentious G-7 meeting resulted in a press conference in which Trudeau promised not to be pushed around.

He continued, "And that's what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference".

Larry Kudlow, a White House economic adviser, said Canada had made "polarizing" statements about United States trade policy and that Mr Trump was left with no choice but to pull out of the joint statement.

France has warned that "fits of anger" can not not dictate worldwide cooperation after US President Donald Trump abruptly rejected a previously agreed joint statement in the wake of a fractious Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada.

It's true Ontario's next premier has expressed his like and respect for President Donald Trump in the past.

Navarro wasn't the only top Trump adviser to use his appearance on a Sunday talk show to take pot-shots at Trudeau for daring to respond to the president's tariffs. He did him a favor and he was even willing to sign that socialist communique. That will not stand, Navarro said.

It comes after Trudeau explained his position at a news conference in which he outlined the difficulties in moving forward with the North American Free Trade Agreement. "I personally negotiated with Prime Minister Trudeau", Mr. Kudlow said. "I have made it clear to the president that [imposing retaliatory tariffs] is not something we relish doing, but it's something that we absolutely will do".

The PC leader who will take over as premier June 29th said "all provinces should" support Trudeau in this battle.

Kudlow was particularly offended that Trudeau would say this ahead of Trump's North Korean summit. "I don't understand the obsession with trade relations with Canada", he said on Fox News, given that Canada is the biggest single buyer of American goods and services in the world.
