Prince William doesn't have much time to himself now that he's a dad of three.

Speaking in the TT bike paddock with the Norton race team around him, William said: "I miss the big trips, for me biking was always about being with everybody else".

Motorcycle enthusiast Prince William flew to the Isle of Man for one of the world's top races on Wednesday.

Race organisers ACU Events Ltd expressed their "deepest sympathy" to Mr Lyon's family and friends and tributes were paid on the TT's official Twitter account. The annual motorsport event features riders competing in nine races around the circuit, which is nearly 38 miles long and renowned for its difficulty and danger.

"He was just saying being on a dirt bike as a kid, just having a real-world experience growing up, all of us here have done that and he's done the same".

The duke was making his first official visit to the Isle of Man - a crown dependency - and was joined by the chief minister Howard Quayle and other dignitaries. He also appreciates a good motorsport contest, which is what led The Duke to bunk off to the Isle of Man for parts of the 2018 race.

Prince William is scheduled to meet with TT staff and volunteers as well as visiting the TT Grandstand and the Joey Dunlop Foundation. This year too, the famous Snaefell Mountain Course, where the participants race, took away the lives of two motorcycle racers.

The Braddan-based charity provides specialist accommodation for Isle of Man visitors with disabilities.
