Kingdom Hearts 3 is the hotly anticipated conclusion to the Xehanort Saga that started with the original Kingdom Hearts game, released in 2002 and was first officially revealed with a trailer at E3 2013. Kingdom Hearts III will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 29, 2019.

If you thought you were going to need to wait until Monday's Square Enix E3 press conference to find out the Kingdom Hearts 3 release date you thought wrong.

Kingdom Hearts III is an action role-playing game that combines the universes of various Disney franchises and Final Fantasy. Square Enix has just announced that the game will be coming in January. "I'm sorry that we're asking for a little more time than initially planned", said KH main man Tetsuya Nomura. Previously set for this year, Kingdom Hearts III will miss 2018 by a hair.

A follow-up tweet noted that trailers and more information will be coming at E3. Kingdom Hearts II came out in 2006.

Nomura has noted that the game will have another playable character besides Sora.
