Giuliani: Trump isn't planning to issue pardons during Russian Federation probe

Donald Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said there's a "good chance" the president will decide next week whether to answer questions from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, a crucial choice that could shape the course of his presidency.

"In a situation like this, there are going to be a lot of differing recollections and a lot of corrections are going to be necessary", Giuliani said.

He stressed that the Trump team was not trying to delay an interview but that the president had had other priorities - namely, the North Korea summit. The way Ronald Reagan did,"he added, when asked about conditions for a interview".

"We now have an investigation that in the words of President Donald Trump, has been a fix, a frame up and a witch hand".

"When it's over? Hey, he's the President of the United States", said Giuliani. He retains his pardon power. "I couldn't and I don't want to take any prerogatives away from him". He can pardon, in his judgment'.

Another target in the Russian Federation investigation, Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is spending his first weekend in a federal prison as he awaits trial. As Newsweek reported, President Trump's lawyer called Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecutors investigating his client "wackadoodles" who belong in a psychiatric ward.

Trump has worked outside the traditional pardon process and used his clemency powers in cases where he believed prosecutors may have been motivated by politics.

"The president has issued no pardons in this investigation". He said Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein assured the president that he wouldn't be roped into the Southern District of New York's investigation.

Citing findings in last week's Justice Department inspector general's report related to the conduct of two senior FBI agents, the former mayor called for a review of the origins of the Russian Federation investigation.

Last week Mr Trump declared he thinks the Russian Federation probe is "very biased" and has reservations about being interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller. "No, I'm saying the Justice Department should do it".

"I certainly didn't know about it", Giuliani said.

The internal report reviewed one of the most controversial chapters of the 2016 election battle between Mr. Trump and Ms. Clinton. But Giuliani said he wants another investigation into the bureau's Russian Federation investigation, which was eventually taken over by Mueller when he was named special counsel. 'You're not going to need pardons. With the exposure of all this, as we go into it, we're going to get into the substrate and the foundation of the entire Mueller investigation'.

Tapper had asked about Giuliani's comments to the New York Daily News last week, in which he said, "When the whole thing is over, things might get cleaned up with some presidential pardons".

"We want the Mueller probe to be investigated", Giuliani said Sunday.

'If we did have it. obviously what we would really like something in writing, responded to in writing. And it can be under oath'.

THE FACTS: The watchdog faulted Comey for some of his conduct, but did not find that he acted in a "criminal" manner, as Trump put it.
