White Ferns' 17-year-old star Amelia Kerr has smashed the record for the highest individual score in a women's ODI after hammering an unbeaten 232 in the 305-run win over Ireland in Dublin this morning.

Amelia Kerr has broken the women's world record for the highest ODI score with 232no.

The Australian was the first person to score a double hundred in ODI cricket when she amassed 229 against Denmark in Mumbai in 1997.

Before Wednesday, Amelia's highest score was 81 not out and that was her lone fifty-plus innings. Once Kerr was done demonstrating that she was wise beyond her years with the bat, she let a few of her legbreaks rip to cooly pocket a five-wicket haul and end Ireland's miserable week with their third successive defeat by 300-plus runs.

Kerr's innings is third highest in ODI cricket, behind Rohit Sharma's 264 and Martin Guptill's 237.

If her record-breaking innings was not enough, Kerr then took 5-17 (seven overs) with her leg-breaks as the White Ferns bowled out the Irish for 135. Amy Satterthwaite (61 off 45 balls) and Kerr provided the team with a ideal start, scoring 113 for the first wicket.

Kasperek posted a career-best 113, including 10 fours, from 105 balls to eclipse her previous best of 21 not out against India in June, 2015.

Kerr and Leigh Kasperek, who scored 113, combined for the second largest partnership of all time in women´s cricket of 295 runs for the second wicket. Una Raymond-Hoey led the way for the hosts, with 42 runs from 68 balls before being dismissed by Kerr, who also claimed four of the last five wickets.
