Alec Baldwin Invites Melania Trump to Join Him on Saturday Night Live

Alec Baldwin Invites Melania Trump To “Come Over To The Light” And Join Him On ‘SNL’ Alec Baldwin Calls on Melania Trump to 'Come Over to the Light' and Do SNL With Him
Jeannette Daniel | 25 June, 2018, 00:39

You are quaking w anticipation.

It seems like there might just be a way for First Lady Melania Trump to counteract the outrage and bad press that came along with her wearing the already infamous "I Really Don't Care" Zara jacket just as she was going to visit immigrant kids that were separated from their parents and detained in Texas. "Shuddering w a odd, newfound courage", Baldwin tweeted.

Melania Trump has not responded to Baldwin's tweets, but her spokeswoman said her jacket was meaningless and "had no hidden message". "Come. Come over to the light.do SNL w [ith] me". We will welcome you as a hero in ways you never imagined possible.

The only question left is whether Trump will take Baldwin up on his offer. We'll welcome you as a hero in ways you've never imagined possible.

In a follow-up tweet, Baldwin shared a photo him and the First Lady at an event, stating: "We have a chair waiting for you in the @nbcsnl make-up room". (The president said it was a criticism of the "fake news" media).

Baldwin's tweet was written like a note, beginning "Dear Melania".

Before becoming president, Donald Trump hosted "Saturday Night Live" twice - in 2004 when he was hosting "The Apprentice" on NBC and in 2015 shortly after he launched his presidential campaign. In response to Baldwin's latest comments, she accused the Emmy-winning actor of "trying make himself relevant by using [Melania Trump's] name".

Amid the many celebrity cameo of Trump relatives and administration officials, SNL regular Cecily Strong has played the role of Melania to date.
